A contributing editor at Art in America, Storr frequently writes for Artforum, Art Press (Paris), and Frieze (London), and is the author of numerous catalogues, articles, and books, including Intimate Geometries: The Work and Life of Louise Bourgeois.

He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including honorary doctorates, the Penny McCall Foundation Grant for painting, the Norton Family Foundation Curator Grant, awards from the American Chapter of the International Association of Art Critics, a special AICA award for Distinguished Contribution to the Field of Art Criticism, an ICI Agnes Gund Curatorial Award, and the Lawrence A. Fleischman Award for Scholarly Excellence in the Field of American Art History from the Smithsonian Institution’s Archives of American Art.

 

He received the highest cultural honor from the French government—being named “Officer des arts et des lettres”. He is on the Arts Advisory Council of The Arts Arena and on the Board of the Fondation Cartier.
