Kate Slevin

Vice President, Planning and Policy

Kate Slevin joined MAS in 2014 and guides the organization’s advocacy, policy, and community planning work. Before coming to MAS, she was an Assistant Commissioner at the New York City Department of Transportation, where she managed legislative and government affairs for the Commissioner. From 2002 to 2012, she advocated for sustainable land use and transportation policies at the non-profit Tri-State Transportation Campaign and served as executive director of the organization for five years. She is also a former Urban Park Ranger and has managed environmental reviews at the New York City Parks Department. She holds a B.A. in Earth and Environmental Science from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Urban Planning from New York University.
