Douglas Burnham is the principal and founder of envelope A+D, a West Coast architecture studio. Douglas' recent work in San Francisco, including PROXY in Hayes Valley and a master plan for the former PG&E power plant in Hunters Point, employs temporary urban interventions to explore the placemaking potential of a diverse mix of well-curated, neighborhood-serving uses. Douglas recently founded HERE FOR NOW, a nonprofit dedicated to creating centers of cultural vibrancy through interim activations focused on art and design. Douglas has been an adjunct professor at California College of the Arts and currently serves on SFMOMA's Architecture and Design Forum's Executive Committee.
