Executive Director
Deborah Marton has dedicated her career to public space in New York City, with a special focus on merging natural systems with the built environment. She joined New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in 2011, bringing extensive experience moving municipal projects from conception to conclusion. As Executive Director, Deborah manages NYRP’s work transforming open space in underserved communities to create a greener, more sustainable NYC. She oversees all organizational activities, from park restoration and operations in Northern Manhattan to renovation and maintenance of NYRP’s 52 community gardens, and implementation of MillionTreesNYC in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation.
