Kathryn C. Chenault, a former practicing attorney, has devoted the past several years supporting and serving on the boards of directors of a number of educational, health care, and art institutions. She has developed several scholarship funds and mentoring programs for young people. Most recently she was honored with the 2012 Excellence in Public Education Award from the Institute for Student Achievement. Kathryn Chenault holds a JD from NYU School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Tufts University. She lives in New York with her husband and two sons.
